gps-guided travel article apps
Have you ever read a travel article and wished you could take it with you as a guide or itinerary while traveling?
Visiting new places and trying to decide where to go, what to see, and what to do can make trip planning a daunting task. There is a better way to walk in my shoes and the shoes of others while traveling.
Take the work out of your sightseeing experience by using GPS-guided travel articles.
what are gps-guided travel articles
So, you’ve read a travel article and want to experience that destination in the same way as the author of the article. Headed to Cayman, Tokyo, Barbados, or Athens? Wouldn’t it be great to visit a destination and not have to write down or print every suggested activity or sight you read in the travel article? That’s where GPS-guided travel articles can help.
GPS-guided travel articles have GPS coordinates embedded in the article and map the route the author described in the travel story for you to follow. 5,500+ self-guided city walks are available at GPSmyCity in 700+ cities around the world.

benefits of gps-guided travel articles
GPSmyCity offers a free app that you can download to your phone. Even better, you won’t need internet to use the articles as guides while traveling. The app shows you where you are on the map and guides you to each destination featured in the travel article.
The good news about this app is you can also upload any travel article from GPSmyCity free of charge to read at your leisure without wi-fi. So, if you’re in the sky, on the beach, or in the bush, your travel guide and itinerary remain accessible to you via the app.
Use the travel article as your personal tour guide with live GPS-guided direction based on the travel article! Upgrade the app for a small fee of $1.99 and work offline, roam free, and without dipping into your data plan. GPS-guided travel is a great way to have a private tour guide with you on your trip for less!

New features update as of January 31, 2017.
Key features to the recently-updated GPSmyCity iOS app.
Audio. Now users of article apps can have the article content read to them out loud using the newly-added audio function. This function can be quite useful when using the app outdoors and having difficulty seeing text on the screen. Sometimes, a person may simply want to listen to the audio narration rather than read the text himself.
Custom Walk. The new Walk function allows users to select some or all the sights featured in the article and create their own self-guided walking tour to these sights.
