Cooking my first meal with Blue Apron was so much fun! The first dish was a savory and tangy Spicy Peperonata Pasta. Being vegetarian doesn’t make me an automatic pasta lover so I wasn’t sure I’d like this one but boy was I wrong.
how blue apron works
Every week a new box of fresh, organic, and locally grown food arrives at my front door. Three meals are in the box and each serves two. I select foods I love on their website and exclude any I don’t eat and/or have allergies too. If an entree appears on my menu that I don’t want, I can change it in advance the week before delivery.
As an avid traveler, I love that I can update my delivery address to ship wherever I’m traveling. This makes it very convenient to cook healthy meals while traveling.
loaded with flavor
Every bite of the Spicy Peperonata Pasta was loaded with flavor. I enjoyed the exercise of actually preparing a healthy meal and using spices to kick things up several notches. I tire of running out of cooking options and the easy recipe card with step-by-step directions took the “work” out of cooking dinner and introduced me to meals I wouldn’t have considered on my own.
The perciatelli pasta is a thick noodle. When mixed with butter, tomato paste, capers, pine nuts, red pepper, garlic, parsley, cherry tomatoes, Tinkerbell peppers, and topped off with Parmesan cheese, I fell in love. Over and over and over again. This colorful entree lasted me for three days!
